My very last Post for UIR / 7:05 AM
So sad to say GoodBye
This would probably be my last entry for UIR. To be honest im actually pretty sad typing these words. This journey with UIR has been a very fruitful one with many happie learning times and many tiring practical sessions. At the start of this subject i actually didnt think i would learn anything. But i have to admit i was wrong. In fact i learn many things. The some things which i have learnt from UIR that i would always apply and use through out my life would be.......
The use of operators to conduct my search, the use of variations of keywords, the use of Forums which people actually do reply and the use of Meta-Search Engines. I actually never knew something like a meta search engine actually existed until UIR. So many thanks to UIR for all that i have learnt and to Ms Faridah you have been great!
Goodbye readers i am still considering if i should keep this blog as my personal blog and keep blogging. Oh well, guess u will know the answer if i continue blogging! haha! see ya!

This is a super strange website! Knowing how strick our government is i never thought a website like Talkingcock.com could survive. Somehow it did! haha... Just listen to the name of the Website! Talking Cock Dot Com! i am still finding it hard to believe that this website didnt get banned. Oh well, for those who havent visited this website, trust me you should. This week in class we were asked to put ourselves in the shoes of 3 different individuals visiting this TalkingCock.com website.This is what i think the 3 very different people mentioned would think about the website.
1st Individual: Singapore's Prime Minister
"I feel very disturbed with the content displayed/shown on this talkingcock.com. In the first place, the name of the website is very inappropriate and crude. This website should not be on the internet as it give a very poor and discriminating apprearence of Singapore. This website should be BANNED."
2nd Indivudual: A Singaporean
"Wahlao eh! this kinda website oso can make it on the internet. Content super funny ar cannort take it, laugh until want to die. Still got Mas Selamat Pac Man game, best ar this website. The jokes part also very champion. All those who created this website i clap,bow,sing and cheers to u la. Very Good Job done!"
3rd Individual: A foreigner working/studying in Singapore
"Talkingcock.com, this website i recently visited after hearing so much about it. I would say it is pretty interesting although certain espects of it actually makes fun of Singapore's Government and were pretty offensive. Overall i would say Singaporean have a very good sense of humour based on the website and that the Singapore Government are not so rigit with their way of governing which is good as it allows the creativity of Singaporeans blossom."

E-Learning Week / 6:24 AM
E-Learning week again!
Hello readers!
This week for E-Learning week we had to complete an E-Learning exercise. Haha no supprise isn't it! Well the exercise was pretty fun actually. We had to enter our Rawkz Wiki at
www.uir-rawkz.wetpaint.com to post an entry on our research topic! This was a group effort where every group member had to enter their entry either before or after another group member's entry. Do you get what i mean?? Example!... Student A, B and C in a group! student A must make an entry, below student A's entry student B will entry his/her entry then followed by student C. And and and the best part of this exercise is that every group member are allowed to edit the entry of his/her own group mates! haha.... Although initial stages of setting up the wiki was pretty complicated and challanging, the overall task of doing it was pretty fun.
p.s. Our school's internet very strange! While doing the wiki right in school, i kept getting signed in as my other classmates!? One minute i am ME the next i am someone else! Soooooooo Annoying Argh!

Practical 4 and 5 / 11:14 PM
Hello fellas!
Had another Practical session on UIR last Friday.
We worked on a lab exercise which was aimed to help us draft out our portfolio for this subject for submission in weeks to come. Basically what we did was to look at different search facilities. By search facilities i am not only referring to the common ones like Yahoo.com and Google.com, but also other strange search facilities i never knew existed.
Some of these are:
Meta Search Engines
Normal Search Engines
I also became more aware of a Subject Directory. I have seen this option on Yahoo.com but never really bothered to find out what/how it is and how to use it. Well i got the chance last Friday and i realised that sometimes it is useful to use Directory and sometimes the results you mind might not be useful at all.
I also learnt more about make my search more focused and a yet still yield many related returns/results. This useful results are achievable through the use of variation of keywords and also operators such as: AND, OR, (..) etc
These makes your search keywords very focused and gives you very good results.
I hope to apply everything i learnt so far during UIR, in future and i know these skills are very useful and will help me in years to come.

After the first two Practicals
Hello peepz, heres' telling u all about my first two UIR lab lessons. It wasnt boring to say the least, i was given the task of researching on a particular topic of my choice(from a list of choices). And the topic i chose was...... Impact of terrorism on the world economy!.... haha sounds boring right! Well thats what i thought at first but after some researching on Yahoooooo and Google, i found out that there are many repercussions on the economy which in turn affects the people living in that unfortunate country. Actually i was asked to find one Organizational website and another Personal website, however not many people are actually bothered to create a site on such a topic fortunate enough for me, the teacher Ms Faridah was kind enough to allow me to search 2 Organizational websites :)
My knowladge and understanding on this topic to be honest is still very weak, however with great interest in this topic with more reading progress im sure to be able to tell u more on this topic!
